Honeycrisp
Fact:
The
first apples came off the Honeycrisp tree in 1967; but whoever ate the apple at that time,
did not see fit to release it; and the original tree was scheduled for removal, according
to Minnesota Harvest. A University of Minnesota breeder, David Bedford, saved the
variety from extinction and brought it the rest of the way to its introduction.
